Our thoughts about Istanbul:

Amber Smith: (England)

My thoughts on Istanbul is that even though there is pick pocketers it is a very big city with welcomming people and very intelligant pupils.

As well as, this city holds a few important places that have history and storys behind them.

Mrs K. Crawford: (England)

Istanbul has been an amazing experience, the hospitality that has been shown by Deutsche Schule has been fantastic, with tasty food to jam packed days sightseeing in the old city. A highlight of that was visiting the magical Basilica Cistern, which was a very peaceful and special place, with the hidden gem of Medusa’s head. Furthermore, the trip to the top of the bazzar and listening to the call to prayer was a a serene experience which will be in my memory for a very long time.

Becky Young: (England)

My thoughts on Istanbul is that it is a very busy but very beautiful city. Some of the places we visited yesterday were very interseting learn about. It is very different to England but some things are the same too. I have enjoyed my stay here and would like to come back again.

Charlotte: (England)

Things I like about Istanbul:

I think Istanbul is a very interesting place with outstanding sights and shops/markets.

I think Istanbul is a beautiful place because of all the bright and colorful markets, because in England everything is dull and boring.

Before I came to Istanbul I thought it was a very dangerous place with fighting and bombs, but now I am here I have realized it is a very safe place with a large amount of friendly people.

Abbie Christlow: (England)

My thoughts on Istanbu is that is a very large and busy city. There are some very interesting places to visit and learn about in Istanbul.

Abi Forster: (England)

Things I like about Instanbul

There are lots of very pretty sights. There are also lots of very shops/markets that are very colourful and interesting.

Before I came here I thought that it was very dangerous however now I have realised that it isnt. Its very colourful and many people that we have met are very friendly.

Marvin: (Germany)

Istanbul is a very large city! There are living about 18 million people. Istanbul (Konstantinopel) was the capitol of the osmanic empire. Today you can see the impressive aqueducts and mosques which had survived a lot of earthquakes and wars.

Kevser: (Germany)

My thought on Istanbul is that it is a very big city and it is a really nice place to go and visit for a holiday or a school trip aswell as there is loads of pick pocketers which makes us feel unsafe becasue we have to keep tight hold of our bags and purses.when walking around all the time.

Another thought is that the people who are in Istanbul are really kind and welcoming which i like and the pupils are really intellegent and kind too, it is really good how they get the water into the bottles.

Emma Stokoe

Istanbul is very beatiful city and a big city with 15 million people and many water. 2 tons in a day will water used. Istanbul has also a big waterfactory with the name 'hamidiye'. But everywhere in Istanbul is a watermark.

Miss L. Carr: (England)

The visit to Istanbul has been an eye-opening experience for all the right reasons. The cultural changes and experiences have been amazing. A highight of the experience has been meandering through the columns at the Basillica Cistern. It was such an atmospheric place-bursting with history and culture; something I have never experienced before. Second to this was the visit to the Süleyman Mosque which was brilliant, there were so many new revelations during this visit: the importance of water in religion and its necessity in order to bring someone closer to Allah, the fantastic architecture and the beautiful decoration inside the Mosque.

The hospitality from the German High School was fantastic and it was an absolute pleasure to spend some time with such a fantastic group of staff and students.

Rabia Kayhan & Melina Dietzen: (Nothing)

I did like the trip, because I met  new people(They are nice) and we have seen much of the city. The city is beautiful.

Our time in Nijmegen

We are 8 German students and spent our time in Nijmegen. There we stayed at host families for 5 days.

The first day was on 23rd March. We arrived in Nijmegen at 11:30am. The Dutch students greeted us as soon as we arrived at their school. We had a tour around their new school building. Then we had lunch. We spent the rest of the day with our host family.

The next day we had breakfast with our host family and went to their school to present our presentations about the project, which we had made in the last meetings. Later we visited the city of Nijmegen.

The next day we had an excursion in Nijmegen to learn more about water.

On Thursday we had a trip to Amsterdam. In our opinion that day was really tiring, because it was rainy and cold, while we were in the bus for about 6 hours. Also, what was more tiring was, that we had small stops on our way to Amsterdam, even though the weather wasn´t getting any better.

Our last day was unpleasing, because we had to leave Nijmegen.

All in all we had lots of fun and enjoyed our time in Nijmegen! ☺
